My kitchen benchtop has never been so clean ever before!!!
It chops, it stews and it steams. And so much cheaper than what I would have paid for an actual Thermomix.
It does make a lot of loud noise when chopping, but which food processor doesn't do that. So I guess it is normal. I particularly like the suction footing. It helps the machine hold on to the benchtop tightly and doesn't move a lot.
Did my rice and curry as the first meal. Works fantastic. Can't wait to try various style of Indian curry dishes (all in the same pot).
I am looking forward to making ice cream for this hot hot summer.
Cleaning was so easy, pull some water and detergent in, and let it spin for a minutes, self clean, less scraping and washing up to do.
First thing I noticed is build quality is excellent I've worked in and around commercial kitchens all my life and as a point of comparison, build quality is excellent. Dont expect to get marvelous results straight away unless you're an old hand at using thermo mixers, some tweaking and refinements are required,.and there's online discussion forums which are excellent for tips and tricks. Made my first risotto in it tonight and it was cooked to perfection in little to no time! Next time I'll use the blade cover and reverse speed (negative speed) though so as to retain greater consistency. Highly recommended can only imagine that the knockers either don't know what they're doing or didn't use it for long enough to figure it all out!
I am loving my Mistral cooker. I had the pleasure of using my friends Thermomix before purchasing my cheaper version, but I have to say it is everything I hoped it would be
That item Mistral Thermo Cooker which I'd buy from Aldi is one of the best thing I ever bought to use in my kitchen since then I'd have great dinner
purchased this for literally a quarter of the price of the thermomix. I love this machine. I was not sure how much use I would get out of it, but like the concept of the machine being a "one stop shop" for recipes from start to finish. The easy clean up is a huge bonus too.
As per the other review I have read on this machine I also noticed the high quality feel and fit of the components and I too observed my temperature climbs when cooking, however it does not seem to be as extreme. It climbs to 105 or 110 when on 100, but it slowly dials itself back down, overall I have not yet felt the need to dial back the temperature myself.
In difference to the other review I've read on this machine, mine does get the shakes when using the blades at high speed...just something to be aware of.
However, I will say that my favourite thing about this machine so far is the fact that I have tested it out with several thermomix recipes from the net and the speeds/times/settings etc all seem to be completely interchangeable making this a BARGAIN at a quarter of the price.
I haven't washed any of the components in the dishwasher, I simply put soap and hot water in the machine after quick rinse out and turn it on for a few minutes to clean the bowl and then give it a super quick and easy wipe over with the sponge in the sink to wash, then rinse dry and clip back in- EASY clean up.
I've been planning on getting a machine like that for some time now and Thermomix was my dream machine, but the price has put me off buying it. I wasn't sure I was going to use it as much to make worth the money!
So, upon researching other brands I noticed that Aldi had one with rather good reviews. But the thing with Aldi is you need to wait for the sales and you need to be lucky to get hold of some items.
Well, I was double lucky as I found one just seating there waiting for me, and there wasn't any special sales that day :')

It has a 3L steel bow, the machine itself is high quality and well made. The screen size is amazing and following the instructions is so easy.
I was so bored with my weekly cooking and this has given me the pleasure to cook again.
Yes, there is only 100 recipes and there's absolutely no use for the wifi until they add more recipes or an option to download some yourself.
BUT! you can just follow the recipes from the Thermomix or cookidoo.
It is an awesome cooker. A lot of useful I build recipes and can be used manually for any recipe. Big colour screen. Easy to follow recipes. Is noisy but I’m told so is the thermomix. If you want something that’ll do lots of things for you, but don’t want to pay $2400 with delivery then it’s a really good cheaper option.
I have often wondered if the reason why Thermomix users rave on about their machines is because they have SO much money invested in them, they can't afford to be unhappy with it.
With the Mistral, you don't have nearly as much of an investment.
So, how does it bear up by comparison?

Hello? Save $1100! The Mistral comes with pretty much all the same accessories as a Thermomix.
The instruction manual is pretty easy to read and the machine is easy to use. It comes with a few recipes to get you going.
I have had great success using it to make soups, fondue, spaghetti sauce, jam, chilli, cake batter and sorbet.
Overall, I'm really happy with the purchase.

My ex-wife has a Thermomix and loves it. I was a bit sceptical of these types of devices and the reports of burns and scalds from faulty seals on some of the premium Thermomix machines a while ago was off-putting. With winter coming though and a love for soups I caught sight of the Aldi Mistral machine at $299. Having just received a $300 gift card as a Covid crisis thank-you from work I invested my windfall in the device.
As someone who enjoys the process of cooking (not the clearing-up so much ;-P) I wasn't sure I would use it enough to justify spending my hard earned (Ok, not really hard) and I suffered a bit of buyers remorse! Well! that is all past now and I love the machine!
The simplicity of use, cleaning and range of functionality has me hooked. After running through a couple of the supplied recipes to familiarise myself with the concepts, I've been adapting other recipes on-the-fly with great results.
The Mistral kitchen masterf has gained a regular place in my cooking, and as an accolade indeed it has won a permanent position on my kitchen bench against an otherwise "clear-surface" policy.
