Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, this easy roast chicken is made to perfection in the Mistral 10.3L Air Fryer.
With plenty of room for a whole chicken and powerful airflow for even cooking, it's a simple way to create a family favourite with golden, crunchy skin and tender, succulent meat every time.
Method
- Pat the chicken dry with paper towel and place it in a large bowl or on a tray. A dry chicken is the secret to achieving that irresistibly crispy, golden skin.
- Combine the olive oil, salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper. Rub the seasoning mixture all over the chicken, ensuring it is evenly coated. Don't be shy here, every nook and cranny deserves a little flavour love.
- Place the lemon halves, rosemary and thyme inside the cavity. It's a simple trick that fills your chicken with fragrant, savoury goodness from the inside out.
- Preheat the Mistral 10.3L Digital Air Fryer to 180°C. A little preheating now sets the stage for roast chicken perfection.
- Place the chicken breast-side down in the air fryer basket or on the air fryer rack. Trust the process, we'll flip it later for an evenly golden finish.
- Cook for 30 minutes, then carefully turn the chicken breast-side up. This is where things start to get seriously golden and delicious.
- Continue cooking for a further 25-35 minutes, or until the skin is beautifully golden and the thickest part of the thigh reaches 75°C.
- Remove the chicken from the air fryer and rest for 10 minutes before carving. Tempting as it may be to dive straight in, this little pause helps keep every slice wonderfully juicy and tender.
- Carve and serve with your favourite roast veggies, salad or crispy air-fried potatoes. Gather everyone around and enjoy a roast that's sure to earn requests for seconds.
