your air fryer called and it’s ready for a clean.

A person and a child are preparing food in a kitchen setting, with the main focus on a dark gray air fryer filled with orange carrot sticks on a white countertop surrounded by food items and plates.

We get it. Cleaning the air fryer isn’t exactly the highlight of anyone’s day. But a little TLC now means less scrubbing later and keeps your trusty dinner sidekick ready for the next batch.

Grab these

Damp microfibre cloth
Dry microfibre cloth
Dishwashing liquid
Baking soda
Soft-bristle brush or old toothbrush

Now, let's get it sorted.
  1. Switch off and cool down.
Unplug your air fryer and let it cool completely before you get started.
  2. Give the basket a bath.
Remove the basket and any removable parts, then wash them in warm, soapy water.
  3. Wipe out the evidence.
Use a damp microfibre cloth with a little dishwashing liquid to wipe away grease and crumbs inside the air fryer.
  4. Get to the hidden bits.
Once completely cool and unplugged, carefully position the air fryer so you can access the heating element. Give it a gentle wipe with a damp cloth or sponge.
  5. Call in the baking soda.
Got stubborn, baked-on grease? Mix baking soda with a little water to make a thick paste.
  6. Give it a gentle scrub.
Work the paste over stubborn spots with a soft-bristle brush. No need to go full elbow-grease mode.
  7. Dry and put it all back together.
Make sure every part is completely dry before reassembling.

Fresh air fryer. Minimal fuss. Save this one for the next time you look inside your air fryer and think, “Yeah… I should probably clean that.”
