3 Easy Recipes for the Mistral 6.6L Digital Air Fryer

Chicken nuggets:

Ingredients
  • 50g plain flour
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 2 eggs
  • Breadcrumbs (preferably  panko breadcrumbs)
  • 600g chicken breast (roughly 3 chicken breasts)
  • Any sauce of your liking to serve

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder and paprika, adding a tsp of salt and a little black pepper. With a second bowl, add the eggs and whisk. On a third plate, add the breadcrumbs.
  2. Cut chicken breasts up into pieces roughly 2 inches across and toss into flour mix, then egg, (optional – double coat the chicken pieces for a thicker, crunchier crust). Heat the air fryer to 200°C, and ensuring the chicken lies on a single layer (batches may be required), cook for 10-12 minutes, until cooked through, crunchy, and golden brown. Serve with sauce to your liking.

Air Fryer Mac and Cheese:

Ingredients
  • 250g Macaroni
  • 300ml full cream milk
  • 30g cooking butter
  • 30g plain flour
  • 65g mature cheddar (grated)
  • 1tbsp English mustard
  • 30g panko breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Using the instructions found on the box of macaroni, cook and then drain the pasta, setting aside
  2. Warm the milk until just steaming in the microwave using a heatproof jug or bowl. Over low heat, melt the butter in a small saucepan, stirring in the flour slowly until combined, cooking for 1 minute. Gradually stir in the milk, with the sauce looking glossy once completed correctly. Once the sauce is bubbling, cook for 1 additional minute, then remove from the heat. Stir in all but a little bit of the cheddar and mustard, stirring until combined. 
  3. Add the cooked pasta into a heatproof dish that fits within the air fryer, adding the sauce over the top. Stir until the pasta is evenly coated.  
  4. Combine the remaining cheddar and breadcrumbs and sprinkle over the top of the pasta and sauce. Heat the air fryer to 180°C, and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs are golden and crispy, and the cheese sauce is bubbling.

Air Fryer Roast Chicken:

Ingredients
  • Whole chicken (2.25kg)
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp dried mixed herbs
  • 1 tsp garlic granules or crushed garlic

Instructions

  1. Remove any string/anything from the cavity of the chicken. Prepare the vegetable oil, paprika, mixed herbs, and garlic with ½ tsp of salt, as well as a healthy amount of ground black pepper or to your liking. In a large bowl, cover the entire chicken with the vegetable oil mixture.
  2. Place the chicken breast side down, heating the air fryer to 180°C. Cook for 30 minutes, then flip and cook for a further 10. To crisp up the skin, turn the temperature up to 200°C and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes. Once the temperature probe reaches 70 °C or the juices of the chicken are clear, the chicken is cooked.
